The study, published in JAMA Network Open Friday, examined 25,315 women over 25 years, finding a higher adherence to the diet—focused on fresh fruits and vegetables, legumes, nuts, and whole grains—was linked to a 23% reduced risk of death as well as a lower risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer.
