Innovaccer acquired CaduceusHealth to combine its AI platform with the company's revenue cycle management services and staff to serve ambulatory care providers.

Innovaccer, founded in 2014, built software solutions to unify enterprise data and applies AI to automate manual tasks and streamline workflows for payers and providers. Last year, it rolled out Flow Auth, an AI-powered prior authorization solution that is part of Flow by Innovaccer, an AI-powered revenue cycle suite designed to modernize financial operations for health systems. Other capabilities include Flow Capture, an autonomous medical coding solution and Flow Collect, an AI-powered denial management and revenue recovery tool.

Innovaccer claims that it now serves over 200 health systems and payers, 95% of community pharmacies and 80 million patient lives across the United States. Flow is built on Gravity, Innovaccer's healthcare AI infrastructure platform.

With the acquisition, Innovaccer will incorporate CaduceusHealth’s solutions and ambulatory RCM expertise into its Flow agentic AI RCM platform.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

CaduceusHealth is a nearly 30-year-old company, and its U.S.-based team serves nearly 4,000 providers and manages $5 billion in gross patient charges annually for leading healthcare organizations. For ambulatory care networks, the acquisition brings together human expertise and the scalability of AI automation on a single platform, Innovaccer executives said.

"In [the] revenue cycle, the difference between good and great comes down to knowing which payers push back on which codes, shifts in auth requirements, or which denials are worth fighting. We've built that knowledge over 30 years. Innovaccer's AI platform lets us put it to work at a scale no managed services organization could reach on its own. That's what this combination makes possible," said Jim Bonomo, founder and CEO of CaduceusHealth, in a statement.

The acquisition expands Innovaccer's Flow suite to full-stack revenue cycle capabilities, making Flow the first AI-native platform that unifies scheduling, patient engagement and end-to-end revenue cycle management into a single operating layer for ambulatory care, according to the company.

The acquisition is different from a typical acqui-hire or services bolt-on, Abhinav Shashank, co-founder and CEO at Innovaccer, asserts.

"CaduceusHealth will operate under the Innovaccer umbrella, with their specialists working directly inside Flow as their operating platform," Shashank told Fierce Healthcare. "But the more important story is what happens to the intelligence over time. Every decision a Caduceus specialist makes—how they appeal a denial, how they resolve a payer-specific edge case, which claims are worth fighting and how—feeds back into the AI. The agents get sharper from the work the humans are doing. Caduceus-specific payer knowledge gets encoded into the models. The expertise doesn't sit in a person's head; it compounds into the system."

"This is not a services wrapper around an AI product," Shashank asserted. "It's a closed loop where human judgment trains the AI and the AI scales what human judgment can do. For providers, that means the platform keeps getting better the more it's used—and they get the benefit of nearly 30 years of ambulatory RCM knowledge baked into every workflow, not just available on request."

This marks Innovaccer's fifth acquisition. The company picked up Story Health in September to expand its specialty care offerings. In January 2025, it purchased Humbi AI, an actuarial software, services and analytics company, and that deal was preceded by the 2024 purchases of Cured, a digital marketing and CRM platform for healthcare, and Pharmacy Quality Solutions, a pharmacy-payer performance technology.

Innovaccer secured a $275 million series F funding round in January 2025 to invest in AI with the goal of becoming a “one-stop shop” for healthcare AI solutions. The health tech company has raised a total of $675 million to date.

With CaduceusHealth's assets, Innovaccer will now offer a single system that pairs AI-driven automation with expert human oversight that can learn an organization's payer mix, anticipate denials before they happen and closes revenue gaps at a scale. The combination represents a new model for provider economics, Innovaccer executives said.

"When we started building the Englewood Health Physician Network, we had 50 providers and a $30 million operation,” said Tony Orlando, Englewood Hospital and Medical Center's chief financial officer. "Today, we have grown to more than 700 providers and $240 million in managed revenue. CaduceusHealth was with us every step of that journey. Joining Innovaccer means the next generation of providers won't have to choose between operational expertise and AI—they'll have both."
