                        <p><h2>ABSTRACT</h2>
<p>Research into the differences across cognitive domains has been conducted to characterize the various presentations of schizophrenia-spectrum disorders. We aimed to identify distinct combined cognitive profiles with clinical relevance in patients with early psychosis (EP) by integrating neurocognition, social cognition and cognitive biases (CBs). Seventy-five outpatients attending an EP programme were assessed on neuropsychological performance, Theory of Mind (ToM), facial emotion recognition (FER), jumping to conclusions (JTC) bias and self-reported CBs through standardized tools. A two-step cluster analysis was performed to identify latent profiles. The optimal number of clusters was determined based on the Bayesian information criterion. Symptom dimensions, depression, global functioning, antipsychotic use, duration of untreated psychosis (DUP) and sociodemographic variables were compared across the resulting clusters. Two distinct profiles were identified. The first cluster (53.3%) was characterized by significant impairments in neurocognition, ToM and FER, as well as greater JTC and self-reported CBs. The second cluster (46.7%) was defined by relatively preserved performance across cognitive domains. Furthermore, the impaired cluster showed more severe positive, negative and disorganized symptoms, poorer functioning, lower premorbid intelligence and increased use of antipsychotics. No significant differences were found for depression, DUP or sociodemographic variables. Concluding, cognitive clustering revealed a clinically impaired subgroup of patients with more severe psychotic symptoms and poorer functioning. Our results may contribute to a better understanding of the distinct cognitive profiles of patients with EP. These findings may be relevant because several interventions targeting different cognitive domains have been shown to improve clinical and functional outcomes in EP.</p>

                        <p><p>
<st>Objectives</st>
</p>
<p>To develop and pilot a community pharmacy pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) awareness-raising and referral pathway, informed by a literature review and interviews with pharmacists and community members.</p>
<p>
<st>Methods</st>
</p>
<p>Using the person-based approach and the Capability, Opportunity, Motivation-Behaviour change (COM-B) model, the pilot aimed to improve HIV/PrEP knowledge/capability and motivation through pharmacist and community awareness-raising. Opportunity was addressed by integrating PrEP consultations into pharmacy services and offering sexually transmitted infection (STI), HIV and kidney function home self-sampling kits. Financial incentives aimed at motivating pharmacists. Pharmacists initiated PrEP discussions and provided self-sampling kits. Individuals interested in starting PrEP were referred to the sexual health clinic, completed the tests and posted them to the clinic for processing. Clinic staff then confirmed PrEP eligibility and prescribed PrEP remotely. National Health Service (NHS) policy restrictions on pharmacies stocking NHS-procured PrEP informed the delivery model. The pilot evaluation focused on staff training impact, number/type of consultations and acceptability and feasibility for staff and community members.</p>
<p>
<st>Results</st>
</p>
<p>The pilot was conducted in five pharmacies across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire from October 2024 to April 2025. A total of 55 individuals (aged 18–69 years, n=23 male, n=31 female, n=1 transgender) were made aware of PrEP and offered a referral for PrEP. Visit reasons included emergency contraception (n=14), PrEP (n=14) and opioid substitution therapy (n=11). Twenty-eight community members expressed interest in PrEP; 22 accepted a self-sampling kit, nine returned it and four were prescribed PrEP. Pharmacists and community members viewed the service positively. Barriers included pharmacists’ initial lack of confidence initiating PrEP discussions and limited public awareness of PrEP availability in pharmacies.</p>
<p>
<st>Conclusion</st>
</p>
<p>Community pharmacies represent a promising site for a PrEP awareness-raising and referral pathway. Successful scale-up requires pharmacist training, public health education and structural and policy changes to support accessible PrEP provision beyond sexual health clinics to reduce inequities.</p>

                        <p><h2>ABSTRACT</h2>
<p>This article makes a compelling contribution in advancing our understanding of the unintended consequences of gender equality initiatives within Polish higher education institutions (HEIs) by demonstrating the willful ignorance of the persistent inequalities, which we term the phenomenon of “eyes wide shut.” Consistent with the previous reference to neoliberal policies perpetuating a “market of privilege” that fosters gender blindness and enhances systemic inequalities, our analysis extends these by drawing attention to the lack of ownership and accountability in addressing these inequalities. It is about the emerging phenomenon of willfully ignoring persistent gender inequalities by choosing not to take a stance, despite being afforded that choice as a social actor. Drawing on in-depth qualitative research involving 30 academics from Polish business schools, we reveal a widespread belief in meritocracy, especially among male participants, who claim that academic work is solely competence-based and thus disregard gender inequalities. This gender-blind stance not only neglects the structural challenges faced by women but also perpetuates male-dominated and hegemonic academic norms. We identify a paradox where gender equality initiatives, often viewed as unnecessary or forced, provoke resistance from some male academics, who perceive them as discriminatory. Men in the study expressed feelings of reverse discrimination, citing concerns over women’s increasing presence in leadership roles and all-female research teams. At the same time, female academics frequently recount experiences of marginalization and inequality. These narratives showcase how gender blindness reinforces a market of privilege by willfully ignoring them. We make the case that alongside concepts such as gender blindness as a mechanism that upholds a market of privilege in academia, where perceived neutrality conceals persistent gender biases, there is also the reluctance to own up and to exercise the choice afforded to social actors to address gender inequalities. We conceptualize this willful refusal to act as part of the phenomenon we term “eyes wide shut.” We explain this phenomenon as another unintended consequence of neoliberal systems modeled after Western standards that fail to create genuine equality. We adopt a place-based orientation that helps us explain this willful ignorance as a consequence of the broader sociocultural and historical context in which Polish HEIs operate.</p>

                        <p><h2>ABSTRACT</h2>
<p>The dominance of technology in the daily lives of modern-day children has raised much concern about the impacts on their wellbeing. However, there are also many advantages and opportunities transpiring. This paper asks whether technology is an aid or an obstacle to a child’s wellbeing and school life. Parent and teacher perspectives were collected from a group of seven schools in Northwest England using surveys and interviews, seeking to compare perspectives and better inform the ongoing strategies of schools. The data revealed disconnections between the perspectives of parents/carers and teachers, highlighting the need for increased dialogue and collaboration to occur. Existing approaches of parent respondents tended to be adult-led and directive rather than viewing children as co-creators of establishing their own healthy pathway in the online world. Support and advice from schools could be transformative for families who find implementing technology boundaries to be highly stressful. It is evident that there is a need for significant investment and ongoing research in this area to harness the positive aspects of the ever-changing online world and reduce the impacts on school life.</p>
