<p>Wearable alcohol biosensors offer an innovative solution for real-time alcohol monitoring, yet concerns about comfort, privacy, and social acceptability have limited their adoption. This study presents the largest real-world evaluation to date of a new-generation wrist-worn alcohol biosensor. In this study, 150 healthy adults (ages 21–54) wore the BACtrack Skyn sensor continuously for 14 days. Using a mixed methods design, we assessed pre- and poststudy feasibility and acceptability through structured surveys and open-ended responses, applying innovative machine learning techniques, including Term Frequency–Inverse Document Frequency and sentiment analysis, to capture nuanced user experiences at scale. Participants showed high compliance (median wear time: 94.66%), and 77% expressed willingness to extend device use. The device’s discreet, smartwatchlike appearance supported high social acceptability, with most users reporting easy integration into daily life even if no significant changes in alcohol consumption were observed. While some discomfort—particularly itching and sleep interference—was reported, overall comfort and usability ratings were favorable. Findings indicate that the new-generation wrist-worn alcohol biosensor is a feasible and well-accepted tool for alcohol monitoring. High compliance and positive user reception highlight its potential for real-world applications. While sensor comfort was generally positively rated, refining the device’s fit and materials could enhance wearability over extended periods. These insights contribute to the ongoing development of wearable alcohol biosensors that balance usability, functionality, and user experience. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2026 APA, all rights reserved)</p>

                        <p><h2>ABSTRACT</h2>
<p>This study examines the experiences of Israeli therapists in conditions of collective trauma following the devastating events of October 7, 2023. The study is based on eight in-depth interviews conducted with six therapists, a director, and a clinical supervisor at the Sdot Negev Resilience Centre in southern Israel, conducted during the period May to July 2024, 8–10 months after the start of the war between Israel and Hamas. The interviews focussed on (1) the challenges of providing mental health treatment after the October 7 terrorist attacks, (2) adapting professional interventions to the new reality, and (3) personal coping resources of the therapists. A thematic analysis of the interviews raised five main themes: the need for mental flexibility and creativity in therapeutic interventions in emergency situations; the challenge of maintaining professional involvement against the backdrop of the crisis of trust in the state’s systems; the impact of strong identification between therapists and clients against the background of the shared traumatic experience; the increased importance of self-care for caregivers; the added value of systemic work with families and communities. The findings of the study indicate the need to develop a new treatment paradigm adapted to situations of collective trauma, while recognising the complexity of therapeutic work when the therapist is part of the affected community.</p>

                        <div style="font-family:Helvetica, sans-serif; color:#494949;text-align:justify;font-size:13px;">
                        <p><h2>ABSTRACT</h2>
<h2>Introduction</h2>
<p>The Swiss Learning Health System (SLHS), funded from 2017 to 2025, facilitated the movement of research to practice and policy, responding to national calls to enhance health services research and build research scientist capacity. This study evaluates the SLHS to understand how Learning Health System (LHS) science can provide a foundation for Knowledge Translation (KT) platforms at a national level, identifying successes, challenges, and lessons learned from capacity building and institutionalizing KT in support of evidence-informed decision-making (EIDM) in health policy and practice.</p>
<h2>Methods</h2>
<p>We employed a mixed-methods approach from September to December 2023, using the SLHS program aims and the Knowledge-to-Action framework to inform the study’s conceptualization. Data collection involved two workshops with over 40 SLHS members, a survey of 39 members, and in-depth interviews with 10 key informants, analyzed using descriptive and thematic methods.</p>
<h2>Results</h2>
<p>Capacity-building efforts prompting a cultural shift by training research scientists to adopt a science-policy-practice mindset were the most common successes captured. The LHS and KT approaches aided in dismantling silos and encouraged community building through participatory methods. An important lesson learned is the value of co-creation involving key partners, especially patients, in the research process to strengthen relevance, issue prioritization, and evidence use. However, challenges persisted in adequately tailoring and transferring knowledge, highlighting the need for more consistent engagement with community partners to enhance the impact and relevance of KT efforts.</p>
<h2>Conclusion</h2>
<p>This study demonstrated that the SLHS is a valued initiative for capacity building, while highlighting the need to strengthen co-creation and refine strategies for adapting research evidence for EIDM in health policy and practice.</p>

                        <p><h2>ABSTRACT</h2>
<p>This study investigates the impact of digital stress on mental well-being among Chinese adolescents, focusing on the mediating roles of online self-disclosure and perceived friendship quality, and the moderating effect of urban–rural differences. Using a sample of 1028 middle and high school students from Sichuan Province, China, structural equation modelling (SEM) was employed to analyse data collected via validated scales measuring digital stress, online self-disclosure, perceived friendship quality and mental well-being. Results revealed that digital stress was directly and negatively associated with adolescents’ mental well-being (β = −0.235, <i>p <</i> 0.001). Online self-disclosure and perceived friendship quality partially mediated this relationship, suggesting that digital stress both motivates self-disclosure as a coping mechanism and deteriorates perceived friendship quality, thereby influencing mental health outcomes. Furthermore, urban–rural differences moderated the association between perceived friendship quality and mental well-being, with urban adolescents exhibiting a stronger positive effect (β = 0.466, <i>p <</i> 0.05) compared with rural peers (β = 0.374, <i>p <</i> 0.001). These findings underscore the dual-pathway mechanisms linking digital stress to mental well-being and highlight the need for context-specific interventions, particularly in rural areas. The study advances theoretical frameworks such as the general strain theory and support deterioration model in the digital context, offering actionable insights for policymakers and educators to mitigate the adverse effects of digital stress on adolescent mental health.</p>

                        <div style="font-family:Helvetica, sans-serif; color:#494949;text-align:justify;font-size:13px;">
                        <p><p><strong>Background:</strong> Adolescence is a critical period for mental health vulnerability alongside rising digital media exposure. Current evidence often fails to distinguish the distinct roles of leisure screen time (LST) quantity and addictive patterns like internet gaming disorder (IGD) on a comprehensive range of mental health outcomes. <strong>Objective:</strong> This study aimed to investigate the independent and joint associations of LST and IGD with multiple mental health conditions among Chinese adolescents. <strong>Methods:</strong> We conducted a school-based, cross-sectional survey in Sichuan Province, China. Participants were recruited by random cluster sampling from 20 public schools. The sample comprised 13,240 adolescents (6659/13,240, 50.3% girls) with a mean age of 15.4 (SD 1.6) years. LST was self-reported, and IGD was evaluated using the Internet Gaming Disorder Scale-9 Item Short Form (IGDS9-SF). Mental health outcomes included overall mental health status and 5 specific diseases: psychological distress, depression, paranoia, insomnia, and suicidal ideation, all assessed using validated scales. <strong>Results:</strong> The prevalence of excessive LST, IGD, and any mental health disorder was 48.2% (6378/13,240; 95% CI 47.3%-49.0%), 1.4% (188/13,240; 95% CI 1.2%-1.6%), and 55.8% (7387/13,240; 95% CI 54.9%-56.7%), respectively. After adjustment, excessive LST (odds ratio [OR] 1.18, 95% CI 1.09-1.27) and IGD (OR 6.58, 95% CI 5.02-8.62) were independently associated with poor mental health. A dose-response relationship existed for LST quartiles (Q2: OR 1.15, 95% CI 1.04-1.26; Q3: OR 1.24, 95% CI 1.12-1.37; Q4: OR 1.31, 95% CI 1.18-1.46; <i>P</i>trend<.001). Excessive LST was associated with depression (OR 1.16, 95% CIs 1.05-1.29), paranoia (OR 1.22, 95% CI 1.11-1.34), and suicidal ideation (OR 1.15, 95% CI 1.04-1.28), while IGD was associated with all 5 disorders, most notably depression (OR 6.43, 95% CI 4.56-9.06) and paranoia (OR 5.77, 95% CI 4.05-8.21). IGD consistently demonstrated stronger associations than LST: psychological distress (OR 4.40, 95% CI 3.12-6.19 vs OR 1.14, 95% CI 0.98-1.33), depression (OR 6.43, 95% CI 4.56-9.06 vs OR 1.16, 95% CI 1.05-1.29), paranoia (OR 5.77, 95% CI 4.05-8.21 vs OR 1.22, 95% CI 1.11-1.34), insomnia (OR 2.90, 95% CI 2.09-4.05 vs OR 1.12, 95% CI 102-1.22), and suicidal ideation (OR 3.85, 95% CI 2.76-5.37 vs OR 1.15, 95% CI 1.04-1.28). Adolescents with both excessive LST and IGD demonstrated the highest odds of mental health disorders (OR 7.35, 95% CI 5.29-10.22). No significant interaction was found on additive or multiplicative scales. <strong>Conclusions:</strong> Both excessive LST and IGD are independently associated with mental health disorders in adolescents, with IGD showing a substantially stronger association. This study is distinct from prior research by simultaneously investigating both screen time quantity and addictive usage patterns, and by comprehensively assessing 5 distinct mental health outcomes. Longitudinal studies are needed to better understand the long-term effects.</p>

                        <p><p>
<st>Background</st>
</p>
<p>Suicide is a leading cause of death among young adults in South Korea. We investigated the association between triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index and suicide mortality in young adults.</p>
<p>
<st>Methods</st>
</p>
<p>This nationwide study analysed data from 6 667 138 individuals aged 20–39 using the National Health Insurance Database. Participants were grouped into TyG index quartiles. The primary outcome was suicide mortality.</p>
<p>
<st>Results</st>
</p>
<p>During a median follow-up duration of 10.7 years, 41 004 (0.6%) suicidal deaths occurred. The cumulative event rates for suicide mortality were highest among participants in TyG index quartile 4. Multivariable Cox analysis showed significant increases in the risks of suicide mortality in participants with TyG index quartile 4 compared with those in the low quartiles (adjusted HR 1.17, 95% CI 1.11 to 1.23, vs quartile 1; adjusted HR 1.15, 95% CI 1.10 to 1.20, vs quartile 1–3). The association between the TyG index and the risks of suicide mortality was positive and quasi-linear. Subgroup analysis showed a consistent trend of increasing HRs for suicide mortality with higher TyG index quartiles, with significant interactions between TyG index, sex and depression.</p>
<p>
<st>Conclusion</st>
</p>
<p>TyG index can be useful in identifying young individuals at an increased risk of suicide mortality.</p>
