<p><h2>ABSTRACT</h2>
<p>This article maps and discusses the state of public administration education in the Czech Republic. The main method is the multiple case study, covering three topics. The first case enhances information about the scope and scale of public administration in the country. The data suggest that, especially at public schools, the number of students is continuously falling, and public administration did not develop as a specific discipline. The second case focuses on scientific output and internationalization of public administration education, and the last one on the impact of public administration programs on the public sector and national policies. We can observe a gradual convergence toward Western PA standards, which, however, lags behind economic and social developments. The main causes of this lock-in in the past are the legacy of economic transformation, a demand-driven approach, inappropriate funding of science, the accreditation system, and the influence of professional organizations.</p>

<p><h2>Abstract</h2>
<p>Previous research has emphasized the beneficial role of biospheric and altruistic values in promoting pro-environmental behavior, whereas egoistic values have been considered hindrances. We challenge the hindering role of egoistic values for pro-environmental behavior by suggesting the counterintuitive idea that egoistic values positively predict environmental activism over time. Furthermore, drawing from self-perception theory, we argue that environmental activism positively predicts egoistic values over time. We tested our hypotheses using data from 1369 employees in Germany who responded to two surveys three months apart. Consistent with expectations, results showed that egoistic values positively predicted (changes in) subsequent private and work-related environmental activism, as well as involvement in environmental activism groups (but not self-oriented pro-environmental behaviors or mere support of environmental activism groups). Additionally, private and work-related environmental activism positively predicted (changes in) subsequent egoistic values. Overall, these findings advance the literature on pro-environmental behavior by demonstrating the beneficial role of egoistic values for environmental activism and by showing reciprocal relations between egoistic values and pro-environmental activism across time in both private and work contexts.</p>

<p><h2>Abstract</h2>
<p>This sequential explanatory mixed methods research study explored differences in financial literacy between people with problem gambling (PG) and non-problem gambling (non-PG), focusing on three subdimensions: actual financial knowledge, perceived financial knowledge, and financial attitude. The influence of financial socialization was also accounted for in the survey and interviews. The research included a survey of 234 help-seeking gamblers and follow-up in-depth interviews with 12 gamblers and five significant others. Hierarchical binomial logistic regression indicated that perceived financial knowledge was the key factor distinguishing people with PG and non-PG. Higher perceived financial knowledge was correlated with lower odds of being classified as a person with PG, even when accounting for individual and environmental factors. The interviews provided additional insights, showing that actual financial knowledge and financial socialization from significant others did not significantly impact PG severity or involvement. Gamblers with high perceived financial knowledge were more likely to make sound financial decisions. Furthermore, people with non-PG exhibited different financial attitudes than their counterparts, being more open to exploring diverse financial products rather than relying solely on gambling activities. These findings suggest that enhancing perceived financial knowledge could be a valuable focus for future research and interventions aimed at reducing problem gambling.</p>

<p><p>Background </p>
<p>Secondary distribution of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) self-testing (HIVST) kits offers a promising strategy to expand testing among marginalized men who have sex with men (MSM). We compared characteristics of kit distributors (index participants) and recipients, and identified predictors of HIV testing and kit distribution.</p>
<p>Methods </p>
<p>We analyzed data from a randomized controlled trial among MSM in Zhuhai, China (2019–2020). Regression models identified predictors of HIV testing and kit distribution.</p>
<p>Results </p>
<p>A total of 303 index participants and 264 recipients were included. Index participants were more likely than recipients to have previously tested for HIV (84.5% vs 62.5%), report recent (past 3 months) male-male anal intercourse (83.2% vs 60.6%), and have multiple male partners (52.8% vs 40.6%). Among index participants, HIV testing was associated with older age (per year increase: adjusted odds ratio [aOR], 1.14; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.05–1.24), higher education (college vs high school or below: aOR, 4.71; 95% CI, 1.94–11.6), and condomless sex (aOR, 3.90; 95% CI, 1.37–12.9). Among recipients, higher income ($451–750: aOR, 2.58; 95% CI, 1.11–6.00; $751–1200; aOR, 2.35; 95% CI, 1.04–5.36, vs </p>
