<p>“To advance the practice and study of leadership for a better world” is the clear and stated mission of the International Leadership Association (ILA). The organization offers a commitment to the advancement of leadership as a broader commitment to the advancement of the global community. Generous in scope, this is cultivated through a community of global membership. Tending to a mission and principles with an eye toward internationalization, global practice, and leadership, we also must contend with the current tenor of US institutions and policy, colonial legacies, and current practices. As educators, our work is in the educational spaces, classrooms, research, programming, learning, and practice. The principles offer us an avenue to advance with global practice top of mind.</p>

<p><h2>ABSTRACT</h2>
<h2>Background</h2>
<p>Caregivers face numerous physical and emotional challenges when providing care to people suffering from life-threatening illnesses such as cancer. The study aimed to explore caregivers’ experiences in providing care for terminally ill cancer patients in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.</p>
<h2>Method</h2>
<p>A phenomenological study design was conducted among caregivers of terminally ill cancer patients at Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI). A purposive sampling technique was used to select a sample size of 10 participants. An in-depth interview method was used to collect the data. A semi-structured interview guide with an audio recorder was used to collect the information from the participants. Data were transcribed verbatim and analysed using a thematic analysis approach.</p>
<h2>Findings</h2>
<p>The three themes were challenges in caring for patients, availability of social support, and coping strategies. Physical exhaustion and burnout, emotional distress and reduced social interaction were the challenges in caring for patients described by participants during the caring process. Family member support, community support and religious support were the available support systems that facilitated caregivers to care for the patients. However, adopting self-distraction towards patient behaviour, acquiring and using practical skills and following professional guidance were the individual coping strategies used by participants in caring for terminally ill cancer patients.</p>
<h2>Conclusion</h2>
<p>Study findings highlight the fundamental role of caregivers in the care, and illuminate the neglected physical, psychological and social challenges they face amidst health system tensions and conflicting roles. The needs of caregivers should be embedded within cancer care, prevention and control programs, particularly in low-resource settings.</p>

<p>Virtual reality (VR) is increasingly being incorporated in mental health interventions, although little is known about users’ experiences with these different types of technology. This study aimed to examine potential differences in user experiences across three different fully immersive VR head-mounted displays (low, medium, and high range) that varied in cost, technical specifications, and quality. A one-session, mindfulness-based VR intervention was utilized. It was predicted that a more positive user experience would be observed for the high-range than low-range condition and that mindfulness and affect would increase postintervention. Participants were 75 university students aged 18 years and older, who were randomly allocated to one of the three VR groups: low-range (i.e., VR Shinecon), medium-range (i.e., BOBOVR Z6), or high-range (i.e., Oculus Quest 2). Each participant completed a 20-min mindfulness-based VR intervention and completed qualitative questions and outcome measures of presence, cybersickness, satisfaction, mindfulness, and affect. A series of mixed factorial, one-way analyses of variances were conducted on quantitative data. Inductive and deductive content analysis was performed on qualitative data. Results revealed that greater presence was reported among participants in the high-range head-mounted display group than the low-range group. Additionally, mindfulness scores improved pre- to postintervention irrespective of the type of head-mounted display used. Mindfulness and participant satisfaction did not significantly differ between conditions. Participants in the high-range condition reported a more positive user experience and had fewer concerns about technological factors. Overall, the study highlights the importance of considering user experiences when selecting VR interventions and technology. This study addresses a gap in the understanding of user experiences across VR technology quality and contributes to translation and adoption efforts for VR interventions when selecting VR technology for practice. <p><h2>ABSTRACT</h2>
<p>Unmarried professional women remain an underexplored group in scholarship on the work–family interface and gendered identities. This study, applying interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA), examines how unmarried professional women in China navigate competing temporal regulations and construct selfhood in daily life through the framework “dual clocks, triangulated self”. Findings suggest that the participants mostly prioritize the linear and pressuring career clock while attempting to incorporate the family clock into their career plans, with the latter manifesting as a haunting sense of anxiety. Beneath the “career-first” strategy, the enterprising, relational, and desiring selves exert uneven influences on their temporal experiences across different domains, reaching a temporary impasse. With the enterprising and relational selves dominating and entangling, whereas the desiring self unsettles without fully rupturing the status quo, this impasse appears stable and agentic on the surface but is underpinned by vulnerability and oppression. This study contributes to research on professional women’s work–life identities by addressing the overlooked temporal struggles of unmarried women, highlighting how competing ideologies of time from the state and organizations shape their experiences. It also extends theories of selfhood by depicting the dynamic interplay among multiple selves, complicating the conventional understanding of agency in work–life tensions.</p>
