                        <p><p>Journal of Positive Behavior Interventions, Ahead of Print. <br>The Color Wheel System (CWS), a class-wide, rule-based behavioral management strategy, is a successful intervention to reduce off-task behaviors for elementary school students. However, this intervention has rarely been investigated in the middle school setting. The current study implemented the CWS within three sixth-grade general education inclusionary classrooms in a middle school in the United States. A multiple-baseline across classrooms design evaluated the effects of the CWS on class-wide inappropriate vocalizations. Partial-interval time-sampling recorded intervals when any student in the class displayed inappropriate vocalizations. Visual analysis of time-series graphs and effect size measures indicated that the CWS created large, immediate, and sustained decreases in inappropriate vocalizations across all classrooms. Implications for using the CWS as a class-wide behavioral management strategy within the middle school setting and directions for future research are discussed.</p>

                        <p><p>Hispanic Journal of Behavioral Sciences, Ahead of Print. <br>Social comparison processes can affect academic and interpersonal outcomes for minoritized college students. However, the literature has not addressed how these processes play out for Hispanic students who attend Hispanic Majority Institutions, in which Hispanic students comprise more than 50% of the population. In this study, such students (N = 191) completed online assessments for social comparison orientation (SCO), belongingness, academic self-concept, and perceived stress. Results showed that, regarding belongingness, SCO was positively correlated to rejection/exclusion, but not acceptance/inclusion. Regarding academic self-concept, SCO was positively correlated to self-doubt, but not self-confidence. Mediation analyses showed that perceived stress fully mediated the relationship between SCO and rejection/exclusion, and partially mediated the relationship between SCO and academic self-doubt. In other words, SCO was associated with increased stress, which was then associated with increased feelings of rejection/exclusion and self-doubt about academic abilities. These findings offer additional insight into Hispanic college students’ experience.</p>

                        <p><p>Small Group Research, Ahead of Print. <br>Supervisors may experience time differently from their subordinates, and little is known about the interplay between the time pressures experienced by supervisors and their teams. Focusing on team creativity as the outcome of interest, we explore how teams with varying time pressures function alongside the distinct time pressures experienced by their supervisors. In a polynomial regression and response surface analytical framework, team creativity was enhanced when there was a greater divergence between the time pressures of supervisors and team members. Conversely, creativity suffered when the time pressures of both parties were more aligned, whether at low or high levels.</p>

                        <p><p>Palliative Medicine, Ahead of Print. <br>Background:Prospectively tracking errors can improve patient safety but little is known about how to successfully implement error reporting in a home-based palliative care context.Aim:Explore the feasibility of implementing an error reporting system in a home-based palliative care program in Toronto, Canada, and describe the possible factors that may influence uptake.Design:A convergent mixed-methods approach was used. Participants prospectively documented errors using a novel reporting tool and completed monthly surveys. Following the reporting period, we conducted a semi-structured interview exploring participants’ experiences and perceived factors influencing reporting behaviors. Error, survey, and interview data were analyzed separately, then integrated for comparison.Setting and participants:Thirteen palliative care physicians from a single home-based palliative care organization in Toronto, Canada anonymously reported errors between October 2021 and September 2022. Of these, six participated in the exit interview.Results:Participants reported 195 errors; one-third (n = 65) involved internal staff or systems. Three themes describe the factors impacting the likelihood of reporting errors: (1) High levels of cognitive burden decreases the likelihood of error reporting; (2) Framing errors as opportunities to learn rather than reason for punishment improves likelihood of error reporting; (3) Knowing that error data will improve patient safety motivates individuals to report errors.Conclusions:Physicians are amenable to error reporting activities so long as data is used to improve patient safety. The collaborative nature of care in a home-based palliative care context may present unique challenges to translating error reporting to improved patient safety.</p>

                        <p><p>The sector is though in desperate need of more money as demand for its service balloons. Spending on children’s social care in England is expected to increase by £8.4 billion by 2030. The Independent Review of Children’s social care stated the sector needed a cash injection of £2.5billion. In the budget in November, the Treasury promised £250 million.</p>
