<p class="a-plus-plus">This study, using a dyadic design, investigates the mediating role of emerging adults’ childhood exposure to IPV in the association between their mothers’ childhood exposure to IPV and their own experience of physical injury in intimate relationships, as well as the moderating role of mother’s psychological distress in these associations.</p>

<p class="a-plus-plus">Mothers (36–66 y.o.) and emerging adults (18–25 y.o.) completed online questionnaires (<em class="a-plus-plus">N</em> = 186 dyads).</p>

<p class="a-plus-plus">Results showed that maternal exposure to IPV in childhood was indirectly associated with emerging adults’ experiences of physical injury in intimate relationships through emerging adults’ childhood exposure to IPV, and that the association between mothers’ and emerging adults’ childhood exposures to IPV was only significant at high levels of maternal distress.</p>

<h3 class="a-plus-plus">Objective</h3>
<p class="a-plus-plus">The authors created the “Sensorimotor Training Program” (STP) as a critical intervention to develop skills essential for starting school. This experimental study aimed to investigate the impact of the STP in an institutional setting, targeting the specific auditory and visual skills crucial for kindergarten and primary school learning.</p>

<p class="a-plus-plus">The STP comprises 120 training sessions focused on sensorimotor maturation. Seven hundred and seventy-two children aged 5–8 participated in the study, with 704 in the experimental and 68 in the control group, each containing a relatively balanced ratio of boys to girls. The study spanned six to eight months, with three to five weekly sessions.</p>

<p class="a-plus-plus">In this cohort analyses, we sought to estimate the longer-term efficacy of a high-school based bystander intervention to reduce gender-based violence (GBV) into young adulthood.</p>

<h3 class="a-plus-plus">Methods</h3>
<p class="a-plus-plus">Seniors were recruited from 23 of 26 high schools that participated in the original RCT (2010–2014) designed to test the effectiveness of a bystander intervention to reduce GBV. Of 3,389 high school seniors who completed an electronic survey in their last term, 1,986 complete at least one annual follow up survey through 2018 (58.6% retention). Receipt of bystander training was defined based on (1) the high school the participant attended (‘as randomized’ in the original RCT) and (2) participants’ report of additional bystander training received after high school (‘as reported’). The primary GBV outcomes were sexual violence perpetration and victimization rates (%) for the past 12 months.</p>

                  <span class="a-plus-plus abstract-section id-a-sec3"></span></p>
<h3 class="a-plus-plus">Results</h3>
<p class="a-plus-plus">Only at the final follow up were significant reductions in sexual violence perpetration (SVP) noted for the ‘as randomized’ analyses. Self-reported SVP rates were 38% lower (adjusted rate ratio = 0.62; 95% Confidence Interval (CI): 0.48–0.81) among 1,107 participants who had attended schools randomized to the bystander intervention (SVP = 2.1%: 95% CI; 1.6–2.9) relative to 877 participants who had attended control schools (SVP = 3.4%; 95% CI: 3.0-3.9). Receipt of additional bystander training after high school was not associated with lower rates of any GBV form when compared with participants receiving no bystander training in or after high school.</p>

<h3 class="a-plus-plus">Conclusions</h3>
<p class="a-plus-plus">Bystander training was not consistently associated with longer-term reductions in GBV perpetration nor victimization in this prospective cohort study based on a large school-based RCT.</p>

                        <p><h3 class="a-plus-plus">Abstract</h3>
<p class="a-plus-plus">The exercise of self-determination is a human right; however, for people with dementia (PWD), progressive physical and cognitive impairment negatively affects their decision-making processes. For PWD, it is often relatives who make such decisions. This qualitative study included interviews with sixteen relatives of PWD who live in nursing homes. Research questions are as follows: How do relatives understand the participation of PWD who live in nursing homes? How do co-researchers understand participation and the role of relatives? A co-researcher was consulted when the questions were designed. During the interviews with relatives, photos were used to stimulate discussion. Critical situations in nursing homes were discussed with relatives and later interpreted together with a co-researcher. The findings included an understanding of how relatives played a key role in PWD; however, relatives were concerned that PWD were unable to take part in decisions. In addition, relatives named ways that nursing homes opposed human rights, and the co-researchers also highlighted situations that conflicted with human rights. Classifying dementia as a disability at the policy level could strengthen the rights issues of PWD. The key findings of the study are essential for social workers arranging for placement of PWD in nursing homes.</p>

<p class="a-plus-plus">The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots has emerged as a prominent trend in educational technology studies due to its multifaceted advantages. This study aims to explore how to construct a more efficient AI chatbot model as foreign language partners for the purpose of enhancing learners’ language ability. Following PRISMA statement, this study searched and collected 1007 relevant studies on Web of Science database. Employing a combination of bibliometric visualization and citation network analyses, this study visualized the keywords, authors, organizations, countries, and literature clustering of collected studies. The results indicated some promising prospects for the incorporation of AI chatbots in language education settings under post-pandemic context. However, there also existed certain considerations for the enhancement of its efficiency, including technology innovation, psychological engagement, cognitive learning process, pedagogical scenarios, conversational environment, and ethical responsibility. The future research would focus on how to motivate the collaboration between educators and technology developers to better promote the integration of a more efficient AI chatbots into language education settings.</p>

                        <p><h3 class="a-plus-plus">Abstract</h3>
<p class="a-plus-plus">This article reviews the literature on student well-being (burnout and engagement) and their relationships with study demands and resources, student behaviors (proactive and self-undermining study behaviors), and student outcomes in higher education. Building on research that used Job Demands–Resources and Study Demands–Resources models to investigate student well-being, we develop the Study Demands–Resources (SD–R) theory to delineate the various processes, mechanisms, and behaviors involved in student burnout and engagement. Study demands and resources have unique and combined effects on higher education students’ well-being. In addition, students can influence their own well-being and study-related outcomes by either proactively optimizing their study demands and resources or displaying self-undermining behaviors that can adversely affect their study environment. We discuss several avenues for future research, including (a) rigorous tests of SD–R propositions; (b) trait versus state effects in SD–R theory; (c) the impact of the higher education climate and lecturer influence; and (d) an expanded SD–R theory.</p>

                        <p><p>Work, Employment and Society, Ahead of Print. <br>This article explores the formation of migrant agency by scrutinizing the decision-making processes of owner-operator truckers. Drawing on qualitative data collected among male migrants from Turkey in the US, the main finding is that migrant truckers, by making various decisions at the turning points of their career, choose one of three trucking segments and decide the number of trucks that they own. To understand the differentiated ways agency is formed, the article utilizes forms-of-capital analysis, which reveals how truckers mobilize combinations of social, economic and cultural forms of capital. The study conceptually contributes to the scholarship on migrant entrepreneurship by developing the concept of ongoing agency that combines the temporal aspects of migrant agency with the forms-of-capital analysis. This concept is used to understand how migrant truckers reconfigure their agency as they move between segments and ownership statutes over time.</p>

                        <p><p>YOUNG, Ahead of Print. <br>This study investigates how members of party youth wings perceive their respective youth wings and identifies areas they believe require improvement. Empirically, the study surveys the youth wings of eight Swedish political parties, exploring members’ experiences using open-ended questions. The findings confirm that political and social aspects hold greater importance for youth wing members compared to material benefits. Additionally, the analysis reveals how members view the youth wing as a transformative community fostering personal growth, self-exploration and the development of values. Notably, the youth wing is seen as a community unified by shared values, with a collective vision for the world and a focus on collaborative efforts to realize that vision. Challenges include expectations set by the mother party, such as campaigning and career aspirations, and negative perceptions of the competitive political landscape, citing conflicts and factionalism.</p>
