<h2>Background</h2>
<p>Policymakers advocate care integration models to enhance Medicare and Medicaid service coordination for dually eligible individuals. One rapidly expanding model is the fully integrated dual eligible (FIDE) plan, a sub-type of the dual eligible special needs plan (D-SNP) in which a parent insurer manages Medicare and Medicaid spending for dually eligible individuals. We examined healthcare utilization differences among dually eligible individuals aged 65 years or older enrolled in D-SNPs by plan type (FIDE vs non-FIDE).</p>
<h2>Methods</h2>
<p>Using 2018 Medicare Advantage encounters and Medicaid claims of FIDE and non-FIDE enrollees in six states (AZ, CA, FL, NY, TN, WI), we compared healthcare utilization between plan types, adjusting for enrollee characteristics and county indicators. We applied propensity score weighting to address differences between FIDE and non-FIDE plan enrollees.</p>
<h2>Results</h2>
<p>In our main analysis, which included all dually eligible individuals in our sample, we observed no significant difference in healthcare utilization between FIDE and non-FIDE plan enrollees. However, we identified some differences in healthcare utilization between FIDE and non-FIDE plan enrollees in subgroup analyses. For example, among home and community-based service (HCBS) users, FIDE plan enrollees had 6.0 fewer hospitalizations per 1000 person-months (95% CI: −7.9, −4.0) and were 7.0 percentage points more likely to be discharged to home (95% CI: 2.6, 11.5) after hospitalization, compared to non-FIDE plan enrollees.</p>
<h2>Conclusion</h2>
<p>While we found no differences in healthcare utilization between FIDE and non-FIDE plan enrollees when considering all dually eligible individuals in our sample, some differences emerged when focusing on subgroups. For example, HCBS users with FIDE plans had fewer hospitalizations and were more likely to be discharged to their home following hospitalization, compared to HCBS users with non-FIDE plans. These findings suggest that FIDE plans may improve care coordination for specific subsets of dually eligible individuals.</p>

<h2>ABSTRACT</h2>
<p>An extensive body of research has demonstrated the multifaceted detrimental impact of family conflict on the psychological well-being of adolescents. Nevertheless, there remains a significant scarcity of comprehensive studies investigating the full spectrum of family conflict—encompassing both interparental and parent–child relationships—and its effects on adolescent depression within the social context of China. The current study endeavours to bridge this gap by examining the relationship between family conflict and depression while concurrently assessing the mediating role of sense of security and the moderating role of stress mindset. A total of 814 adolescents (mean age = 16.79 years) completed the questionnaires regarding family conflict, sense of security, depression and stress mindset. The findings reveal a positive correlation between family conflict and adolescent depression. Additionally, the study uncovers the mediating role of sense of security and the moderating role of stress mindset. These insights offer valuable theoretical and practical contributions to understanding the impact of family conflict on adolescent psychological development.</p>

<p>The impact of the COVID-19 on the nature of work cannot be overstated. In Canada, following the largest and quickest transition to remote work ever, a significant number of public servants found themselves working from home for most of 2020 and 2021. As governments come out of the pandemic, they begin transitioning to hybrid work arrangements. This article analyzes attitudes and perspectives of public servants in the Public Service of Canada on return to office and transitioning to hybrid work. It also discusses how these can inform research and practice in Canadian public administration.</p>

<p>Il est impossible de surestimer les répercussions causées par la COVID-19 sur la nature du travail. Au Canada, à la suite de la transition la plus importante et la plus rapide jamais réalisée vers le télétravail, un grand nombre de fonctionnaires se sont retrouvés à travailler à domicile pendant la majeure partie de 2020 et 2021. Au fur et à mesure que les gouvernements sortent de la pandémie, ils commencent à passer à des modalités de travail hybride. Cet article analyse les attitudes et les points de vue des fonctionnaires de la fonction publique du Canada concernant le retour au bureau et la transition vers le travail hybride. Il débat aussi sur la manière dont ces derniers peuvent éclairer la recherche et la pratique dans l’administration publique canadienne.</p>

<p>One of the other watchwords of the protest was “scholasticide” — the destruction of education and knowledge. This is obviously a huge problem right now in Gaza, where schools and universities are being obliterated by the Israeli state, and students and teachers are being killed day after day. Some of the most eloquent speakers at the protest connected, with minimal hyperbole or rhetoric, that destruction to what’s happening in New York City public schools and universities, where budget cuts, austerity, and the persecution of pro-Palestine teachers are degrading the state of education in this city. </p>

<h2>Abstract</h2>
<p>While the public opinion literature on Social Europe is growing, so far, it relies on quantitative survey evidence that hides some of the arguments and motivations lying behind the standardized results. This article reveals through qualitative research that ‘welfare Euroscepticism’ (i.e., opposition towards Social Europe) needs more attention in the literature and explains why. Specifically, this article uses qualitative focus group discussions on Social Europe collected in Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Spain (134 participants in total). The participants filled out a quantitative survey before the discussions started and these survey results are in line with the usual public opinion literature on Social Europe, that is, relatively supportive of the social dimension of the EU. However, multi-faceted welfare Eurosceptic attitudes appeared throughout the discussion. While participants may support the general idea of a Social Europe, they are highly critical about how it actually works in practice. The analysis reveals that the public is sceptic towards both harmonizing social policies on the EU level and redistributive social policy instruments on the EU level. Three overarching and partly overlapping rationales appear to drive welfare Euroscepticism: (1) economic self-interest, (2) cultural ideology and (3) the democratic deficit. The results emphasize the public preferences for more conditional redistributive policies and the need to make Social Europe more visible to the public.</p>

<h2>Abstract</h2>
<p>Adolescent refugees confront a complex interplay of trauma arising from forced displacement, resettlement, and the challenges of transitioning from childhood to adulthood. Using photovoice methodology, this study engaged 14 Iraqi and Syrian adolescent refugees now residing in the United States with the aim to illuminate their well-being experiences. Our findings show that temporal continuities and discontinuities in adolescent refugees’ lives contributed to their sense of well-being by helping satisfy their basic psychological needs for autonomy, competence, relatedness, and safety. Temporal continuities involved drawing upon past resources and formulating future career aspirations based on present experiences. Temporal discontinuities encompassed contrasting past and present and processing adversities endured. This study underscores that, beyond current circumstances, the interpretation of life experiences over extended timeframes influences the well-being of adolescent refugees.</p>

<p>Current Directions in Psychological Science, Ahead of Print. <br>We explore the role of intuitive theories in the cultural evolution of moral cognition, integrating recent work across subfields of psychology and suggesting directions for future research. Focusing on intuitive theories in the moral domain concerning how people judge the moral value of actions and make inferences about moral character, we review evidence that the specific forms these theories take vary across individuals and can change via social learning. We propose that cultural selection can operate over the intuitive theories people apply in the moral domain, in which particular variants of intuitive moral theories can be more “successful” to the extent that they are cognitively efficient or provide reputational benefits. Finally, we explore some implications of considering moral cognition as a kind of cultural technology that can be innovated, considering whether intuitive moral theories help or hinder our ability to improve our collective moral norms or practices.</p>

<h2>Abstract</h2>
<h2>Aim</h2>
<p>This research was conducted to evaluate the mediation effect of anxiety and life satisfaction on the relationship between Care burden and Parent Child Relationship in Turkish parents during the COVID-19 epidemic.</p>
<h2>Methods</h2>
<p>The research was carried out with parents (221 women and 219 men) who have children between the ages of 6–18 living in Turkey. Data were collected in June–July 2021 using the demographic data form, “Care Burden Scale,” “Pervasive Anxiety Disorder-7 Test,” “Satisfaction with Life Scale,” and “Parent Child Relationship Scale.” Path analysis was used to analyse the relationships. In this study, structural equation modelling (SEM) was used to examine the path analysis.</p>
<h2>Results</h2>
<p>It was found that the burden of care and anxiety of the parents and the parent–child conflict relationship were positively correlated and negatively correlated with the life satisfaction and parent–child closeness relationship (<i>p</i> < 0.05). Path model analyses revealed that the burden of care had a direct effect on anxiety and life satisfaction, and an indirect effect on the parent–child relationship, respectively.</p>
<h2>Conclusions</h2>
<p>It shows that parents’ perceptions of how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting their mental health have implications for parent and child well-being, with stronger relationships for low-income families. Anxiety and life satisfaction had a mediating effect between care burden and parent–child relationship. Given the demonstrable impact of COVID-19 on the parent–child relationship, this study may guide the planning of coping strategies and programmes focused on mental health.</p>
