The number of adults in the United States who are affected by alcohol use disorder (AUD), according to an article published earlier this year in JAMA Network Open -- (https://doi.org/10.1001/jamanetworkopen.2024.3387) Outcomes After Initiation of Medications for Alcohol Use Disorder at Hospital Discharge. The article indicates that AUD "imposes an annual economic burden of more than $250 billion".
